Blaze is a special 9-year-old Stafford terrier diagnosed with Ascites in May and had suspected congestive heart failure.  Blaze’s owners were unable to afford to send her to see a veterinary cardiology consultant for an echocardiogram so MAHF assisted with the Companion Animal Fund.  Blaze had abdominocentesis and is now doing much better.  Blaze’s owners sent the following note to MAHF:

Dear Michigan Animal Health Foundation,

We rescued Blaze 7+ years ago and nursed her back to health.  A neighbor, at the time, was moving and giving her up.  She was emaciated, malnourished and left tied up outside most of the time.  We couldn’t let that happen anymore and didn’t want her to go to the shelter, so we adopted her.  She was skinny and scared.  Thank you so much for all of your help!!
